Alfre Woodard reads Sojourner Truth

National Women’s History Month.

This speech was given by Sojourner Truth at the Women’s Convention, Akron, Ohio, in 1851. Woodard brings the words to life — poignant, meaningful, strong. We owe a lot to all the brave women that have come before us. And we’re still struggling for our rights, education, control of our own bodies, a living wage.
